Bill: Nationalisation Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Revolucia Partio de Koburo

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 2494

Description[?]:

"The economy is under serious threat. It is under threat thanks to the unscrupulous policies of the right-wing neo-liberals, who seek to destroy our nation. They want to see every piece of industry, every piece of land, every piece of raw material, every public service, every building, every house, and every square inch of of our proud nation treated like a commodity and sold to private business's. These business's have absolutely no concern for our people and their well being. If they could own the shirts on our backs, the water we drink and the air that we breathe, you can be in no doubt that they would buy up these things also, without hesitation.

To meet this threat, we need to take command of our economy and our resources. We need to re-take control of our natural energy sources and our vital industries. We need to heavily regulate the private sector, to protect our citizenry. We need to build and to create jobs. We have to stand up and fight for the people, and for their future. We simply can not allow the evil of laissez faire capitalism to run unchecked in Cobura or else we will face an utter catastrophe. I can't let that happen. I won't let that happen!

Long live Cobura! Long live Socialism!"

- Kenneth McLeish, addressing party supporters after the election
