Message | Out of the question; the Malivian military must never be deployed on our own soil, to be used against our own citizens, unless we are being invaded. This law would make martial law that much easier to declare, provided an official could meet the burden of a 'serious emergency.' |
Date | 02:52:32, August 31, 2005 CET | From | Protectorate Party | To | Debating the Police and Military Relations |
Message | Consider a natural disaster where the local police are overwelmed, where is a city, or province going to get aid from. |
Date | 23:57:00, August 31, 2005 CET | From | Independent Combat Weapons Party | To | Debating the Police and Military Relations |
Message | If the military is to be deployed on Malivian soil it would be for helping people and not fighting people. (because I can't see a sitiuation where the local or state police would not be able to handle) |
Date | 16:49:26, September 01, 2005 CET | From | Protectorate Party | To | Debating the Police and Military Relations |
Message | We agree that the military should be available as a support for natural disasters. |
Date | 18:58:44, September 01, 2005 CET | From | Social Republican Party | To | Debating the Police and Military Relations |
Message | Support for natural disasters. |
Date | 04:33:12, September 03, 2005 CET | From | Social and Labour Reform Party | To | Debating the Police and Military Relations |
Message | Provided it is used for the safety of the citizens (extreme civil unrest, for example, or in case of natural disaster), and not against the citizens. |
Date | 19:37:02, September 07, 2005 CET | From | LibCom Party | To | Debating the Police and Military Relations |
Message | We're against - the army should never be used for policing. Certainly they should be able to provide logistical support in emergencies, but that's not the same as taking over police duties. |
Date | 00:48:10, September 08, 2005 CET | From | Social and Labour Reform Party | To | Debating the Police and Military Relations |
Message | They aren't taking over, they are providing help. |
Date | 00:59:31, September 08, 2005 CET | From | LibCom Party | To | Debating the Police and Military Relations |
Message | They'd be assuming police duties, even if it's alongside the police. That's not an appropriate role for them, and it's not what they're primarily trained for. If the army provide logistical support, the police should be perfectly adequate for policing. |

It leaves every man free to choose the work he likes, to specialize in it, to trade his product for the products of others, and to go as far on the road of achievement as his ability and ambition will carry him." - Ayn Rand |
