Bill: Administrative Reform Act #4 of 2495 [Voting Age]
Details
Submitted by[?]: Kapitalist-Arbeitsfamilien Partei
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: October 2495
Description[?]:
We feel that it is only REASONABLE to say that citizens should NOT be allowed to vote if they haven't even attained the age to work FULL-TIME in the workforce. In addition, the voting age should not be for students still in high school. Thank you for your full support. |

Message | People are generally prone to stupidity all their lives; at least if we let the youth vote, candidates will need to make their campaigns at least slightly relevant to them... |

Message | We support this curtailment of civil liberties, although we would like to see the age raised to 85. |

Message | A nice bit of backdoor politics by the CWFP. They swing a 'voting age' amendment as a thin-end-of-the-wedge. This bill doesn't just set voting age - it sets the age at which a person is LEGALLY considered an adult. This is a sneaky backdoor or the CWFP to push restrictive conservative legislation, by claiming that 17 year olds are having 'underage sex', for example. |

Message | TDP, there is nothing "backdoor" about this bill. If the Convocation submits a bill to ban "underage sex," you have the CWFP's word---IN WRITING---that we will vote against. |

Message | What we have here, CWFP, is a 'peace of paper'. |

Random fact: The people in your nation don't like inactive parties. When you often abstain from voting for a bill, they will dislike your party and your visibility to the electorate will decrease significantly. Low visibility will means you are likely to lose seats. So keep in mind: voting Yes or No is always better than Abstaining. |
