Bill: Administrative Reform Act #4 of 2495 [Voting Age]

Details

Submitted by[?]: Kapitalist-Arbeitsfamilien Partei

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2495

Description[?]:

We feel that it is only REASONABLE to say that citizens should NOT be allowed to vote if they haven't even attained the age to work FULL-TIME in the workforce. In addition, the voting age should not be for students still in high school.

Thank you for your full support.

MessagePeople are generally prone to stupidity all their lives; at least if we let the youth vote, candidates will need to make their campaigns at least slightly relevant to them...

MessageA nice bit of backdoor politics by the CWFP. They swing a 'voting age' amendment as a thin-end-of-the-wedge. This bill doesn't just set voting age - it sets the age at which a person is LEGALLY considered an adult. This is a sneaky backdoor or the CWFP to push restrictive conservative legislation, by claiming that 17 year olds are having 'underage sex', for example.

TDP, there is nothing "backdoor" about this bill. If the Convocation submits a bill to ban "underage sex," you have the CWFP's word---IN WRITING---that we will vote against.

Random fact: The people in your nation don't like inactive parties. When you often abstain from voting for a bill, they will dislike your party and your visibility to the electorate will decrease significantly. Low visibility will means you are likely to lose seats. So keep in mind: voting Yes or No is always better than Abstaining.
