Bill: Constitutional Reform Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Revolucia Partio de Koburo
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2496
Description[?]:
"In order to establish a truly representative, democratic, federal republic, the people need to be able to vote for the head of government directly. Currently the Presiding Officer position is meaningless, and our political situation is in complete stagnation because of it. We know this system is opposed by many of the other parties, but we will say to you this: the Coburan people are ready for such a responsibility, and we will accept their decisions come what may. This is true democracy. Is it perfect? No, but it is fair and far more representative than our current situation. Let the people decide our fate, let the people know. The reason the system failed in the past is because certain parties vehemently refused to work together. But those days are gone. Our politics have matured like a fine wine. Shall we not open the bottle and have a glass? Long live Cobura!" - Chancellor Kenneth McLeish |

Random fact: It is not allowed to call more than 5 elections in 5 game years in a nation. The default sanction for a player persisting in the early election tactic will be a seat reset. |
