Status[?]: passed

Voting deadline: March 2497

Description[?]:

We must expand the age at which a person is considered an adult! Because of the current law we are failing as a country of intellect and compssion with current law we make it possible that people who are not still mature enough to go through life are making capital errors; they quit they education ( in school ) and they start doing jobs that they later regret that they have ever done but later is too late to start again. We must regulate this when you look at our country graphic chart of eployment we will se that our workforce is made in big part with people aged 15-17 that isnt something our county should be proud!!! That is child labour and just dont tell me that it isnt because of the fact that the agde they are considered adults is 16 because it could be 12 would be then xhild labour???

MessageFirst, we doubt your evidence on such a significant portion of the workforce being comprised of 15-17 year-olds.

Second, you speak of a country of intellect, but what use is an entire nation of rocket scientists if no one can build a house or work on a farm?

Third, we insist that schooling is not in everyone's best interests. There are those who will lead a far better life by getting a start in the workplace those years early, or to leave schooling in order to enter an apprenticeship.

Fourth, this is a mistreatment of our youth who do not deserve to suffer the indignity of being forced into the role of children by parents and a society who will not let go.
