Message | Hmm, I guess that depends on what religions are currently recognized. The Shaman’s Voice wishes to maintain indigenous religions in the country. I guess supporting this bill would be our safest bet. |
Date | 22:10:18, December 07, 2007 CET | From | Judicial Union Party | To | Debating the Religious Policy Act |
Message | We support this. A "cult" is just a religion with a few adherents. |
Date | 18:18:17, December 08, 2007 CET | From | Flemish Liberation Front | To | Debating the Religious Policy Act |
Message | cults also don't give a rats ass about their followers well-being, they're all in it for the money and/or power. we won't stand for these mass-suicides. we strongly oppose ----- |

Message | Your proposal isn't bad, but we're quite fine with the current legislation:. It allows for religious freedom, but makes sure religous sects can be prosecuted if necesary |
Date | 11:10:43, December 09, 2007 CET | From | Judicial Union Party | To | Debating the Religious Policy Act |
Message | Why would we prosecute any religious sects? If they break the law, they can be prosecuted under that law. If they don't break a law, they should not be prosecuted at all. |
Date | 18:37:11, December 11, 2007 CET | From | Greenish Liberal Democratic Socialists | To | Debating the Religious Policy Act |
Message | Sects make people dependent of them, even in sofar they "volutaraly" give their money away (after being brainwashed), or are forced to cut of relations with their family,.. etx. These act are not illegal in itself, but we believe this government can not condone such perfidious organisations to operate in our nation |
Date | 06:19:07, December 12, 2007 CET | From | Judicial Union Party | To | Debating the Religious Policy Act |
Message | And what about the benefits people get from such religions. They are given a community to support them. If a person wishes to associate themselves with such a group, then we must let them. It is not the government's place to regulate religion. |
Date | 18:34:33, December 12, 2007 CET | From | Greenish Liberal Democratic Socialists | To | Debating the Religious Policy Act |
Message | Sects are not religons! They are not the same. There's a difference, it is even explicitely stated in the law: "There is no official state religion, but the government only allows recognized religions. 'Cults' are persecuted." |

Random quote: "In Germany they first came for the Communists and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me--and by that time no one was left to speak up." - Pastor Martin Niemoller |
