Message | About a third of the nations on Terra do not, in fact, have any national identity cards. A citizen's identity can be well established by birth records, driver's licenses, social security registration, and other means. We have yet to see a convincing argument for how a national identity card would benefit the citizens. |

Message | The NUA supports the notion of identity cards, generally speaking, but would prefer that potential legislation had some force behind it. We recommend that citizens should be required to keep their card to hand at all times, in order to aid the State in combating illegal activities and curtailing the movements of criminals and terrorists. |

Random fact: Party candidates for head of state elections are not visible to the public. This means that you cannot see who will run and who will not, which adds another strategic element to the elections. |
