Voting deadline: December 2501
Description[?]:
For too long Sekowo has been exploited. Our glorious nation has endured colonization, imperialism, Aretism, and for a while blossomed under a socialist set of laws and policies. Then, when the rightists regained power, Sekowo found itself falling from grace. Taxes were slashed, and for years there was a discrepancy in the budget on the order of hundreds of billions SEKs. Then, after the Sekowan Communist Party gained the office of Finance Minister again, the discrepancy was fixed, and there was even a surplus to pay off debts. And shortly there after, the Leftists were indeed on a surge to power! But then, the famine times came calling again. Rightists began passing bills designed to privatize the economy, to take money away from the state to pay off the debt they had instated! Among other programs that were cut were those guaranteeing a reasonable standard of living for those who could not care for themselves, and people are now forced to pay for their own healthcare, a most expensive endeavor! All this when, had they merely waited, Sekowo would, like a turtle, slowly and steadily repay its debts. We can not and will not sit idly by and allow our country to be destroyed by the greed and avarice of the right-wing capitalists. Neither can we allow the continued existence of those dangerous few who have supported the destruction of the secular state. Therefore we, the Alliance of Progressive Parties do hereby declare war on those that are a threat to these fundamental elements. While we all do not share the exact same ideals, we the Democratic Socialist Party, Sekowan Communist Party, and United Sekowo Moderate Coalition have banded together to protect the Secularism, Social infrastructure, mixed economy and socialist institutions of Sekowo. Co-signed, Otaru Komei, Tenno of Sekowo, Takeru Komei, leader of the DSP and PSA. James Smith, leader of the USMC, Lee Jensen leader of the USMC militia and president of BDI. Aleksei Ilyich Mateev, Comrade-Chairman of the Sekowan Communist Party and Comrade-General of the Sekowan Militia for the Liberation and Emancipation of the Peasants and Proletariat. |

Message | We find it terribly ironic that the USMC has signed this bill, considering the fact that they have voted in favor of most of the privatization bills (indeed, more so than have we). |

Message | So at last we see the authoritarianism that is at the heart of the leftist ideals layed bear. You yourselves in this proclamation have acknowledged that for a long time, the policies of socialism were adopted by this nation. When such policies were in force, The PSFVP was happy to sit back, allow them to happen, and try and work within the system to make positive change. Now when it is our turn in power, as dictated by the democratic will of the people, the left reaches for its arms. This declaration is an admission by the left that their pro democracy rhetoric is, was and has always been a hollow lie. They now set themselves up as the opponents to freedom, the opponents to the will of the people, and enemys of democratic process. This arrogance shall not go unopposed, if it is war the left wants, it is war they shall get. The PSFVP and its supporters will if need be take up arms against these authoritatian militant socialists. We will use whatever means nessesary to repel this attack on democracy. Our first step is to petition the courts to issue arrest warrents for leading members of any militia who breaks the peace. |

Message | At this point, our greatest weapon is rhetoric, but we shall use it freely to fight against ignorant violence. |
Date | 05:19:32, December 10, 2007 CET | From | Pan-Sekowo Freedom Alliance | To | Debating the Declaration of Intent (Civil War) |
Message | The NPP is most admirable in their thoughts on the matter. We too shall use reason above all else, yet we feel it is our duty to defend democratic process, with force if need be. |

Message | Our power is completely coincidental with the rights passing of these destructive laws. OOC: USMC is more in this just to preserve secularism and such, the getting rid of the social programs is mainly the reason for the SPC and myself. |

Message | At the request of the Pan-Sekowo Family Values Party, we, the Hulstrian Nationalist Party has placed several members of our militant wing at the disposal of the conservative parties attempting to maintain order and democratic process in this country. Those that break, or attempt to destroy this order in any way will, along with their families, face death at the hands of our forces that have infiltrated your nation. Until this civil war is abandoned by the socialist parties, attacks will be made without warning against socialist supporters and their families. Socialists be warned, you are not safe, your wives and children are not safe unless you abandon this futile conflict. |

Message | OOC Think of the above as like the militant wing of the IRA, irregular troops, acting with the consent of their party. Their addition is one of the many fun plans I have for this civil war. If we're going to do this, we should at least make it interesting. We're working out numbers at the moment, but think of them as small cells through out the country, made up mostly of immigrants loyal to the HNP. |
Date | 09:35:23, December 10, 2007 CET | From | Pan-Sekowo Freedom Alliance | To | Debating the Declaration of Intent (Civil War) |
Message | THE PSFVP demands an explanation from the USMC, as to why they have joined such an undemocratic group, when they themselves support the free market. Is it because of your drive for secularism? The laws regarding state religion etc currently support secularism? so why do you fight against your brothers? |
Date | 10:56:08, December 10, 2007 CET | From | Normand Pluralist Party | To | Debating the Declaration of Intent (Civil War) |
Message | We wonder the same thing as the PSFVP. The Democratic Socialists and the Communists are fighting against the very reforms which you yourself voted for, members of the USMC. |
Date | 22:58:16, December 10, 2007 CET | From | Kébé Front | To | Debating the Declaration of Intent (Civil War) |
Message | By the request of the PSVP the Revolutionary Brethern has sumitted a bill to put forth the Al'Badaran army in support against the terrorists known as the DSP, the USMC, and the SCP. Hopefully the people of Al'Badara will see as we see and rise against this attack on democracy. OOC: I wonder if it's a coincidence that I'm friends with one of these 'terrorists'? XD |
Date | 23:09:03, December 10, 2007 CET | From | Revolutionary State Socialist Party | To | Debating the Declaration of Intent (Civil War) |
Message | OOC: Sorry I had to leave right after this was posted. This is a revised announcement, the origional was more clear. The USMC is in this for secularism. We have no ill will towards the IC or PSFVP. However, for us to tackel the HLDP and AUP, we may have to go through land/forces of the IC and PSFVP. We would love to take it easy on both the PSFVP and IC, however, we fear without us the others in this Alliance cannot stand. So, our forces will only conduct defencive operations against IC and PSFVP for now. Stay our of our way and we will do our best to avoid confontation. |
Date | 16:12:20, December 12, 2007 CET | From | Democratic Constitutional People's Party | To | Debating the Declaration of Intent (Civil War) |
Message | The DPP will send 5000 militia troops to aid the PSFVP in ending this 'attack on democracy' and will contribute to restoring this nation with the PSFVP on the throne. |
