Message | This represents a clear separation of religion from politics, without infringing upon the rights of any religion. We hope a majority consensus can be reached on this position. |
Date | 04:57:21, December 12, 2007 CET | From | Parti Monarchiste Catholique | To | Debating the Reforme des lois religieux |
Message | Colleagues, We believe this to be an abridgment of religious liberties. Anyone should be able to wear religious symbols while attending to their duties if they so choose. What you are proposing is to ban God from the public square. We will not support this measure. |
Date | 05:12:11, December 12, 2007 CET | From | Option Citoyenne | To | Debating the Reforme des lois religieux |
Message | That is indeed the proposal. All may worship freely, but to protect the rights of all people no faith should be linked to the state power. This is no infringement on faith, it is the realization of full freedom of thought for all. Thérèse de Montjoie Sénateur de Morbaneck |
