Bill: Expansion of Military Capacity Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: National Unity Alliance
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 2501
Description[?]:
"If you seek peace, prepare for war". A (possibly misquoted) phrase that accurately sums up the NUA's beliefs regarding the military. Envious foreigners are constantly on the lookout for signs of weakness in the defences of our nation and if they find one it will be a matter of months before we are defeated by the foreign hordes and our once green and pleasant lands are defaced by the jackboots of a billion fascist barbarians intent on the plunder of our beautiful cities and utter destruction of our nation, its people and its history. Given the grave consequences for a lapse in our defences and their current dilapidated state, the NUA proposes that we grant additional powers and resources to the military and engage in a full-scale purge of undesirables who may join a barbarian force rather than fight to the death for the country that gave them the life that they so ungratefully squander. |

Message | We fail to see how limiting the military to white males will allow for its expansion. We also vehemently oppose any form of military draft, especially in times of peace, and we oppose any curfews. In short, no! |

Message | Correction white heterosexual males who follow [national religion]*. None of those godless communists and heathens in my military. This is, unfortunately, a limited pool from which to recruit our entire armed forces, especially when we factor in the new role as law enforcement officials, so measures will need to be taken to keep it up to strength. Unfortunately for would be pacifists, this means a mandatory term of national service. Our ideas may seem crazy from where you're sitting but they actually have a lot of thought put into them. *Is their an agreed religion that is historically involved in our nation? If not I will have to select one (probably Christianity) to justify my fascism. |

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation. |
Random quote: "It is necessary for him who lays out a state and arranges laws for it to presuppose that all men are evil and that they are always going to act according to the wickedness of their spirits whenever they have free scope." - Niccolo Machiavelli |
