Messageyet you are against nationaliztion of certain key industries like energy, somthing that would help the poor.

We would be in favor of lowering the tax, but not in eliminating it all together.

MessageNS - we are not convinced that nationalizing energy would in fact be best for most people. We prefer decentralized energy production, while nationalizing tends to move the other way.

As to the matter at hand, what is the point of taxing the sale of basic necessities except to place additional financial burdens on those with the least disposable income. If we must have a sales tax, let it fall on luxuries, not basic food and clothing,.

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation.
