Bill: School Freedom Act I, 2103
Details
Submitted by[?]: Liberal Imperialist Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 2104
Description[?]:
As schools are currently private and parents can choose which school to send their children to rather than being forced by the state to send their children to whichever school is closest, we see no need to restrict the freedom of schools to have teacher led prayer, or to discipline children. If a parent does not want to send their children to a school that does those things then they may do so. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The teacher's right to discipline children.
Old value:: Teachers are forbidden from striking children and may only use non-contact discipline (detention, expulsion etc).
Current: Teachers are forbidden from striking children and may only use non-contact discipline (detention, expulsion etc).
Proposed: Discipline levels are set by schools.

Message | For? You are FOR allowing teachers to beat the crap out of their students with a baseball bat? You are for this cruel and inhuman treatment which has a detrimental affect on the child's physical and mental health and which is in violation of international human rights standards? |

Message | "If a parent does not want to send their children to a school that does those things then they may do so." That, my honourable colleague, is quite frankly a load of BS. There are numerous factors parents take into consideration when deciding which school they send their child to, the most notable of which are accessibility, distance, costs,... Those three factors alone can force parents to send their child to a specific school which has corporal punishments, even if they do not wish to send their child to a school that has corporal punishments. I call upon your common sense, my honourable colleagues, to vote against this piece of draconian, barbaric and cruel legislation, and show the world that we do care about human rights and the Rights of the Child! |

Message | We are quite frankly schocked and horrified that so many parties simply do not care about the rights of the child. These policies will take us right back to the Middle Ages! |

Message | It's simply gut-wrenching to see that so many parties have marginalised the youth of this nation! |
