MessageWe will not consider a name that raises one ethnic group above any other. We are creating a united nation of all peoples under God! Not some Fascist-Nationalistic-Imperialistic hellhole!

Gishoto for all Gishotons!, not just the Hulstrian aristocracy! They were the ones who created the idea of a "Hulstrian" race and they and their ideas must be crushed to free the minds, bodies and souls of the citizenry!

MessageIndeed because crushing the citizens who buy the goods and use the serves of our family owned companies, makes sense. Because having a Head of State who can pay for expenses of their office without taxing the general populous crushes them.

The CCP lives in an archaic world where the nobles and the monarchy require funding from the government, instead of the modern world where their wealth has shifted from feudal noble claims to a merchant nobility who bring billions of Crowns in each year to the country. It is cheaper to have a monarchy and established nobility then it is to have a Politikburo and several thousand Communist Officials none of whom actually believe in pure Communism.

MessageYour people know as well as us that the capital in this nation has been concentrated almost entirely in the hands of the aristocracy. Their nationalistic propaganda has allowed them to keep an iron grip on this nation and its people.

MessageAs opposed to the fear and threats that the you Communists used to oppress the masses until finally they stopped being afraid and threw off the shackles of Communist Oppression.

It is only because of the tireless work on behalf of the people of this nation by the aristocracy and the monarchy that we stand and are respected as a world power. The only time the International Community viewed us more backward then the Communist Years was the Mormon Rule.

MessageLooks like it's time to rename our country. :). The constitution reads that this can occur with a 2/3's vote by the members of the diet. It does not read with approval of 2/3's of Diet members. Vote. Therefore, with 2/3's of the Diet voting to approve, it appears Hulstria is back in business.

Messagespeaking purely in my capacity of a game master, the policy is two thirds of the diet, the vote fails.

Messageyou can't make the rules up as you go. the 14th amendment reads: "Subject to the provisions of Article 3, the Federal Diet shall have the power to amend this Constitution. Amendments shall require a vote of two-thirds of the members of the Federal Diet in order to pass and may only apply to certain areas of this constitution."

It doesn't read: "amendment changes shall require that all members vote, and that 2/3's of the vote are needed to amend the constitution" It reads Amendments shall require a vote of 2/3's to pass. Obviously only members of the Diet would be able to vote. The constitutional question is what does vote mean?

1. a formal expression of opinion or choice, either positive or negative, made by an individual or body of individuals.
2. the means by which such expression is made, as a ballot, ticket, etc.
3. the right to such expression: to give women the vote.
4. the decision reached by voting, as by a majority of ballots cast: The vote was for the resolution.
5. a collective expression of will as inferred from a number of votes: the labor vote.
6. an expression, as of some judgment: a vote of confidence.
–verb (used without object) 7. to express or signify will or choice in a matter, as by casting a ballot: to vote for president.
–verb (used with object) 8. to enact, establish, or determine by vote: to vote a proposed bill into law.
9. to support by one's vote: to vote the Republican ticket.
10. to advocate by or as by one's vote: to vote that the report be accepted.
11. to declare or decide by general consent: They voted the trip a success.
12. to encourage or cause to vote, esp. in a particular way.

The amendment passed. Change the name to Hulstria. The expression of the Diet was a 2/3's majority vote for changing the name.

The next argument is it could be interpreted that 2/3's of the Diet must be present and cast a vote for anything to pass. 2/3's of the Diet was present and voted on this to pass. I'd like to hear your rebuttal because i'm amazed at you.

MessageI am giving you the rules by which the game has been governed since it was started. A countries name cannot be changed unless 2/3rds of all members in the diet vote in favour of the change. As it is anyway the IHP is correct on the national message board that a long form name was not provided in the bill description so I would have been unable to change the name even if this had passed.

MessageGAMEMASTER RULING

252 votes for is not enough to change the name of the country.

252/450 = 56%

This vote requires approval of two thirds. This would be 300 out of 450 voting in favour.
