Bill: Extradition Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: United Liberal Alliance
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 2106
Description[?]:
Whilst we believe firmly that we should allow extradition of suspects to the countries where they committed their crimes to stand trial, we believe that the government is also obliged to protect and ensure the well being of its citizens. Therefore we suggest amending the existing law to prevent extraditions to those states which might torture or impose cruel and unusual punishments against our citizens. |

Message | No. Threatening to send someone to some crazy country is a good way of making them talk. I dont want to be like France or other countries which will not send people to the US because the US has the death penalty. |

Message | We won't be like France or the UK because they do send suspects to the US it is just that the US has to agree not to use the death penalty in their case (though the UK sometimes ignores that!!). That was a different option, and is one which Telamon cannot have because we use the death penatly. This is simply protecting our citizens against inhuman treatment e.g. pehapa being dipped in an acid bath, stoned to death or any other 'inhuman' treatment. Therefore, the death penatly itself does not count as cruel or inhuman treatment in this option. |

Message | "No if a person is guilty of breaking a nations law we must respect that and respect there punishments." You extradite them before the trial, fugatives are deported, not extradited. |

Message | Still no. |

Message | If they get innocent over there it would not matter if they had a trial in Telamon. |

Random quote: "The Revolution needs to progress. We as humans need to evolve into higher beings through better moral virtues. And we can achieve that if we clean ourselves from the immoral. Those who go against the Revolution, go against human progress and must be freed in the most humane way possible. That is why we introduced the guillotine." - Maximus Robertson, former Davostani revolutionary |
