Bill: Official Recognition of Adulthood
Details
Submitted by[?]: Communist Party of Endralon
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: July 2039
Description[?]:
It is plainly clear that different people reach adulthood at different ages. However, for practical purposes, there must be a single legal age threshhold for adulthood. Currently, this threshhold is the age of 16, which we believe to be far too low. Some people are mature at 16, but most are not. Therefore, we propose to move the legal threshold for adulthood to the age of 18. |

Message | This issue is pretty ridiculous as far as I'm concerned. Virtually no real-world government grants all adult rights at the same age, but instead phases them in gradually according to the nature of each individual right. |

Message | I'm opposed, on balance, but this is based on fairly arbitrary assumptions and very non-specific principles. |

Message | The basic argument is that 18 is less bad than 16, not that it's somehow good... |
