Message | obvious discrimination without logical reason. you cant support a defence regarding that heterosexual singles make better parents than a homosexual couple...illogical bantering going round and round. the Adoption Rights bill is a step in the right direction. sadly, it discriminates against singles, but that is one group which has political clout and may soo move the bill towards universal liberty. |
Date | 06:05:50, December 25, 2007 CET | From | JDW Tukarali Greens Party | To | Debating the Adoption Reform Act |
Message | oppose. the key is the ability to financial support the child, not the sexual orientation or whether the adopter is currently married. |

Message | Except that even in the current bill, singles are left out which means, we have discrimination. this bill, though does not name homosexuals in it, can still allow them the opportunity to adopt. Just not jointly. |

Message | "JUST NOT JOINTLY"?! now you're not only discriminating, your being flaunting blatant ignorance and bigotry. the couples ruling has logic behind in requiring a civil marraige - helps to ensure a stable home, in economics and nurturing. This is not saying that couples are not capable of raising a child, just that the statistics are against them. If ANYTHING were to be discussed here for a "reform", it should in no way entail a reversion to past legislation. it should be focused on debating whether or not universal adoption rights is possible. opposed. |

Message | Except that with the bill, there is wide discrimination. More people are single than are gay. Why should singles not be allowed to adopt? That's the point of this legislation Monacelli. |
