Bill: DSP.020.2505 (Leaving the Pontesian Treaty II)

Details

Submitted by[?]: 帝国公明党 (Teikoku Kōmeitō)

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2505

Description[?]:

My fellow representatives, as you all know several decades ago we entered a Free Trade and Non-Aggression treaty with Pontesi.

However Pontesi has now become a Fascist state, denying its people civil liberties, going so far as to wanting to allow its troops to shoot and kill people for simply gathering.
Beyond that they have continued to attack a neighboring country to claim land that is not recognized as theirs.

Because of this we believe that it is time to leave this treaty, to show Pontesi and the world that we will not be associated with such actions.

We are aware you've heard this all before, but we implore you to put the values of freedom before those of the economics of capitalist greed.

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation.
