Message | Though it may be selfish to protect the interests of our country first and foremost, it is also our only purpose. Would you have us place the welfare of other countries over that of our own? Understand that while we support granting Kazulia the ability to wield weapons of mass destruction, we have no interest in actually using them. We merely wish to insure that, should the need arise, Kazulia has the means to defend itself, or to end a war before it begins thanks to the threat of large-scale weapons. |

Message | The One True Faith calls for service to God, Community, Family, and Self, in that order. Nowhere on this list do we see the Grand Duchy of Keymon or the Selucian Empire. To put those countries and others at the same level as our own is to deny our needs in the interest of protecting theirs. This is unacceptable. So long as any nation has weapons of mass destruction, so too must Kazulia. Eliminating such weapons completely is a problem that must be tackled on the world stage. But in the meantime, we cannot leave ourselves at such a grave disadvantage. |

Message | We readily agree that there are alternatives to nuclear warfare. Do not think us fools; we do not endorse the use of nuclear weaponry. On the other hand, were all countries of Terra to ban the manufacture, storage, and use of such weapons, we would ecstatic about the possibility of banning them in Kazulia as well. This is a lofty goal, and, ultimately, extremely unlikely to come to pass. If Kazulia goes to war against a nation ready and willing to use nuclear arms without such weapons of own, we will lose. There are no conventional weapons capable of victory against an atomic arsenal. Living under the threat of mutually-assured destruction is not an optimal state, but we assure you that it is far better than being vaporized. There are many things learned in the school yard as a child that are applicable to the larger world. One such thing is this: bullies only respond to force. To hope that no nation of this world will ever use weapons of mass destruction is to hope for the impossible. |

Message | While it is nice to be right on principle, we at the LOTF would prefer remaining alive. Also, "anti-nuke weapons?" If you buy that one, we have a bridge to sell you. |

Message | I want to live, dose this mean I should kil others? |
Date | 01:25:58, December 29, 2007 CET | From | League of the One True Faith | To | Debating the Global Power Act |
Message | That's a rather poor reductionist argument. We do not propose killing, we propose deterrence. If you wish to live, you must deter others that would kill you. |

Message | If you are afraid of someone in our government misusing them, then you have very little faith in our governmental system. If you are afraid another country will use nuclear weapons upon us, then how does it matter whether we have them or not? |

This is what ecologically-minded socialists have been exploring for quite some time now." - Louis Proyect |
