Bill: LDP:2507:14 - Condemnation of the CEO (Amended)

Details

Submitted by[?]: Liberal Democrat Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2509

Description[?]:

This bill proposes to bring a resolution to the floor condemning the CEO Ms Johnson for neglecting her duties by not forming a cabinet. The cabinet has been neglected by the CEO for too long.

As it stands the cabinet does not have a representative for finance, Infrastructure and Transport, Education and Culture & Science and Technology. We have not had a person in these positions for over 10 years!

The LDP are calling for a censure resolution publicly condemning the actions of the CEO. A regular majority is required to pass the motion.

The wording of the condemnation is to be published as follows:

"For failure to exercise her constitutional duties, the Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation of Vanuku, Ms Claire Johnson, is hereby publicly condemned by the Board of Directors for her failure to institute an appropriate cabinet as required by her under the Constutition of the Corporation of Vanuku."

Message"and the Foreign Affairs spokesman will be required to broadcast the condemnation to all other nations if passed."

We will not vote for the measure due to this clause. Vanuku's problems are its own. To advertise such things on the world stage invites views of weakness and strife. Which is terrible for business.

MessageAre you saying if the proposal to have the foreign affairs spokesman broadcast the condemnation around the world is removed you will be prepared to vote in favour of the movement?

MessageThe VCA will certainly vote "no" should that section of the proposal remain.

We have not yet completely made up our minds, and would indeed like the VPA to comment on this measure to state their answer to the charge of malfeasance. However, the VCA is leaning towards supporting this measure as the cabinet situation is not yet resolved to our satisfaction.

((the VPA's absence is curiously timed with the Christmas season, we suspect that may have something to do with the silence))

Messagewe have amended the bill as requested and now look forward to the support of the VCA.

Regardless whether the VPA are on Christmas holidays, they didnt have the courtesy to advise us of that fact like Party Party did and she also had many an opportunity to pass a cabinet long before that.
