Bill: Nuclear Deterrent Act 2509

Details

Submitted by[?]: Democracy and Peace Movement

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 2510

Description[?]:

In order to ensure Keymon's independence and the ability of our armed forces to protect us from any potential threat, we must leave open the option of developing and storing nuclear weapons. In addition to allowing a nuclear arsenal in theory, this bill will also empower the Keymon Armed Forces to create a Strategic Missile Command branch, which is empowered to study our need for nuclear weapons and to report back to the government with their findings.

Message"As Terra's smallest country, we cannot count on our conventional military alone to defend ourselves. We need to have contingency plans and deterrents, and this is one such contingency plan.

It is worth pointing out that, including Keymon, only 4 nations in all of Terra have pledged never to develop nuclear weaponry. (Hutori, Cobura, and Kazulia are the others.) We have fallen dangerously behind our neighbours here."

MessageAnd what is good on killing enemy with nuclear bomb, the radiation will be bad for us too. Or u hope that pollution even on our side or their will make someone happy? The area will not be used for hundred years. I hope that naval and fyrd with ABD is the best way we could form our defense. Then we should probably start thinking about information security and our safety in this technology revolution.

Message"But if we get nuked then at least we can return fire. Simply put people will think twice before striking us if we can strike back just as hard, It's called mutually assured destruction and it is the main reason nuclear weapons are never likely to be used again."
