Bill: Institutes of Anti-Religious Studies
Details
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2512
Description[?]:
The Dovani Resurrection Coalition (a very anti-religious organization) has recently opened a Institute of Anti-Religious Studies in Sekowo and plan the opening of more "institutes". You would ask yourself: "What does this have to do with us?" We have received information that such institutes are planned in Egelion! We know that Egelion has a tradition in religious pluralism, but maybe we should try to restrict such institutes in their efforts to destroy any kind of religion. -------------------------------------------------------------- By voting yes you agree to kick these foreign bastards OUT of Egelion! |

Message | We've already constructed it: http://www.takeforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=171971&mforum=particracy#171971 And it is not only the Federation of Sekowo and yourselves, but we've got plenty in our home nation (several per major city in fact, which is our eventual plan for the entire world), but we've also got an institution in the Free Republic of Lourenne and in the Federal Republic of Kalistan. More will be constructed within your nation, as well as all over the world. |

Message | As the DRC is linked to several totalitarian and undemocratic organization I will not have this establishment on Egelion soil. However, for the sake of democracy I hereby ask every party to vote on this matter. You are the people's representatives, and as that I would like to hear what the people think about this matter trough you. I will make a second bill if the NPPE does not make this as a voting debate. Robert Deval, Prime Minister of the Republic of Egelion. |

Message | So, you want to ban them from Egelion? |
Date | 22:38:50, January 03, 2008 CET | From | Evergreen Party | To | Debating the Institutes of Anti-Religious Studies |
Message | What rubs me the wrong way about this whole thing, is that the construction of this institute happened under our very noses without any notice to the Egelionian government. [Then again, maybe I have not been paying attention.] Granted, we may have laws that don't require governmental notice to establish such an institute on our land--nevertheless, I am uneasy about their covert way of operation. Side question: would this institute be considered a "religion" despite its stance against "religion"? One of our laws says that any religion can set up schools, but they are strictly regulated by our government. |

Message | OOC: No it didn't go unnoticed. He asked me if its OK to RP it, i agreed, and created this debate before it was opened. Atheism could be considered a religion of some kind. But it is on us to decide how to treat these institutes. |

Message | Does the institute have specific governmental backing? Is it something like an embassy? |

Message | Currently its only backed by this party, as far as we know |
Date | 19:47:38, January 05, 2008 CET | From | Evergreen Party | To | Debating the Institutes of Anti-Religious Studies |
Message | Don't they deserve to be here as much as any other religious group does in Egelion? |
Date | 21:41:40, January 06, 2008 CET | From | Technocrat Bloc | To | Debating the Institutes of Anti-Religious Studies |
Message | If they were a religious group or a "home grown" group, the Technocrat Bloc would agree that they should be allowed into Egelion.. However, we view them as politically motivated aliens. |
