Bill: Religious School Restriction Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Totalitarian Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 2105

Description[?]:

At present, any religion may establish a school in our nation. We believe this isn't beneficial to our nation's youth. Only recognised religions should be able to establish a school, and only when they agree to the government's regulations.

MessageDo we want so-called religious groups such as Pastafarians ( http://www.venganza.org/ ) teaching our nation's youth? I certainly don't. I realise that parents can choose what school they send their children to, but in some rural regions, schools may be scarce. A religious organisation may exploit this situation. We don't feel the government should restrict all religions from establishing a school; just the really insane ones.

OOC: I know the flying spaghetti monster is a parody, but I feel it's the best example to use in this case, as none of you should be offended. I personally think Pastafarianism is great.

MessageThe GNP feels that the current legislation is adequate. The strict regulations will prevent the so-called religious groups you are referring to.

MessageWe will not vote for this. Who is to say that one faith is more important than others, no matter how freaky it is?

MessageWe agree wholeheartedly with the GNP on this issue. The regulations we already impose should suffice to keep out, or at least monitor, the effects of any 'Jedi churches', and the like.
