Bill: Right To Privacy Reform
Details
Submitted by[?]: National Socialist Wester Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 2512
Description[?]:
Whilst civil rights are important and essential in any civilised society we deem it a mistake to allow citizens the option of holding back information from the government. Whilst we see no objection to individuals keeping records, information and having a right to privacy, should the government need to gain information from a citizen, they should be allowed to do so. In the event of a crime for instance, it would be terrible if a citizen decided to withhold potentially life saving information or details that could lead to a conviction of a wanted criminal. In situations such as these we would support the use of Habeas Data, whereby the government could demand certain facts if recquired, and we do not see this as a restriction on day to day civil liberties. |
