Message | This Budget trims spending further in several departments, including a 20% cut in Justice spending to reflect the declining crime rate. Infrastructure has been given a substantial increase in order to implement the plan for national expansion. |
Date | 07:14:10, January 06, 2008 CET | From | Order of Valtiel | To | Debating the Budget proposal of March 2512 |
Message | The increase you propose is a mere pitance of what will be needed. |
Date | 07:51:14, January 06, 2008 CET | From | Society for Feudalist Monarchy | To | Debating the Budget proposal of March 2512 |
Message | Remember that the infrastructure expansion needs will only grow over a long period of time, and a massive infusion will not be needed immediately. Additionally, the development of the vast majority of infrastructure will be left to individuals and companies through the various tax-break and land-settlement policies. We think that the current adjustment is satisfactory for at least a decade. |

Message | Declining crime rate? What streets o the FPP walk on? The government figures are massged and spined - in no way is crime truly down. Cutting down on the court's budget will result in poorer judges and longer waiting times in a system already on the verge of collapse. |
Date | 21:55:42, January 06, 2008 CET | From | Freeminded People's Party | To | Debating the Budget proposal of March 2512 |
Message | The extra money is not going to be spent immediately, but will rather be set aside now so that when the time does come to spend it, a large deficit will not be incurred. Additionally, the Archonic Panterrans are correct -- much of the money will be provided by private companies & individuals. |

Message | We will not support an expansion of government! This is EXACTLY what I predicted would happen if we enacted this colonization scheme! |
