1. An act allowing military units to be placed under the control of the police service in the events of a major natural disaster being declared. This action is only available during a *natural* disaster, and may not be invoked during periods of civil unrest or disobedience, unless a natural disaster is also ongoing at the time. 2. The Senate or House may vote at any time to revoke a particular deployment of the military under such circumstances, without having to repeal this bill. 3. Military personnel, even when seconded to the police service under the provisions of this act, shall not ever have the power to arrest or detail civilians. |
