MessageOpposed. This will kill charity events and fundraisers for organizations.

MessageWe support. It simply requires vendors to get a licence, in the same way they need a licence to sell alcohol.

MessageOpposed. Almost all food scandals happen because of fraudulous behavior by the producer, the supermarket does not change anything to the product, they only have to put their goods on the shelf, and receive the money when a customers buys them. As long as they're not selling products which are past their expiration date everything should be fine. There's nothing that would require for licenses to be introduced.

MessageThis is to improve the conditions of places food is sold in. By requiring a license, the vicinities would be inspected and if they are not up to par, they would be denied licenses

MessageSo what about bake sales that go to help the homeless people? Why should they have to fork out money to get a food license? This is not improving nothing but hurting those who use bake sales to help people who are in need. The people who will be hurt the most, will be them.

MessageHomeless people can draw on an unemployment benefit. They don't need help.

In any case, they should get a licence for safety reasons. Just because they are trying to raise money for a good cause, doesn't mean they should be able to put people at risk. We should not turn away from a wide-ranging safety law simply because of a few special cases.

MessageThey are homeless by choice. There is an unemployment benefit they could take, so they have available to them a stable income.

MessageSorry, RP, but this bill is not the enemy of homeless people. I' starting to think you rely on fear mongering. How in the world could you get that specific? lol

MessageAnd for you to be bringing up schools and bake sales, the same children you proclaim will be underfunded can take money out of their paychecks from working in factories under that child labor law YOU support.

Message"Those are all funded by the education budget"

Sorry JUP but that is fully inaccurate. I know for a fact that alot of trips and uniforms are NOT covered under any budget but the department's. Alot of fundraisers such as what is being debated here, assist in funding these departments. Take this away and now we have an even further collapse.

And Graenix, get off it. I'm not buying it. I suggest you actually read the legislation.

MessageYou say it as if we are baning people from selling food. We are not. All that is happening is that we require you to hold a food handler's card to be able to sell food. You would go through training programs to better your understanding of safety and things of that nature.

OOC: Food handler cards are required in my state if you want to work at McDonalds, and all other fast food places and restaurants. They are in no way expensive, they cost about $5 per person. If they pay for everything you say they do, I think return and profit outweighs the minimal cost.

MessageWhy should a bake sale that is going to a good cause need a license to sell the foods that they themselves made? That's pointless.
