Bill: Acte pour un état laïcité, 2512

Details

Submitted by[?]: Bloc Libéral - Soldats du Kanjor

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 2513

Description[?]:

CONSIDERING, we know historically and presently the damage and threats done by organized religion which holds power
CONSIDERING, religion is a matter of personal conscience and not a public matter
CONSIDERING, education is based only on the teaching of facts and skills and not on belief
CONSIDERING, workers for the social contract and the public good should not discriminate or be discriminated against by the people they serve

THEREFORE, we propose Kanjor become a more laïcité and secular society.

NOTE: This bill shall not ban prayer or the declaration of belief and freedom of expression is to be protected.

MessageAlas, we can not support this bill. The government should neither discriminate for nor against religion, and this is clearly the latter.

MessageNO NO NO. OF COURSE we don't let religion be a part of government, but these laws are about individual liberty.

MessageYes I am disappointed by the French and their ban of students wearing religious symbols and other stuff like that. That's not freedom at all. I should be able to wear all the bling I want!

Random fact: In cases where players introduce RP laws to a nation and then leave, Moderation reserves the discretion to declare the RP laws void if they appear to have fallen into disuse. In particular, please bear in mind that a player who is inexperienced with Particracy role-play and has joined a nation as the only party there should not generally be expected to abide by RP laws implemented by previous players who have been and left.
