Bill: Limitations on Cloning
Details
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 2040
Description[?]:
While the government of the Independant Republic of Lodamun recognizes the valid life-saving medical knowledge and capabilities of cloning, it also realizes that it would be morally irresponsible to attempt to clone a human being at this time, given the nature of cloning technologies. It is therefore made illegal to attempt to clone a human being. |

Message | Is this meant to make illegal the attempt to clone an entire human being only? That is, are human organs still allowed to be cloned under this bill? |
Date | not recorded | From | To | Debating the Limitations on Cloning |
Message | Yes, human organs are still cloneable. This bill is merely to dissuade scientists from prematurely creating an entire human, given the insufficiency of the technology to assuredly do it with a degree of competency that will provide the cloned human with the same physical capabilities as one naturally born. (IE, lifespan, minimal/no physical/mental defects, etc.) |
Date | not recorded | From | Chorus of Amyst | To | Debating the Limitations on Cloning |
Message | This is reasonable. In that case, the Council supports this bill. |
Date | not recorded | From | To | Debating the Limitations on Cloning |
Message | Given the dearth of debate, we move the question to a vote. |
Date | not recorded | From | To | Debating the Limitations on Cloning |
Message | Given the solitude of their position, and their lack of commentary on this bill, the Shylock Party desires to know the reasoning behind the stance of the MLPL, in voting against this bill. |
