Description[?]:
Fossil Fuels are predicted to run out in the next century. With this in mind we propose the following -The Govt. encourages the use Nuclear power, which is clean and reliable. Nuclear power, properly researched and with the proper safety precautions should be encorauged. - Renewable energy is also to be researched and subsidized. Renewable energy, especially in mountainous areas where there are higher levels of water andwind, should be encouraged as an alternative to the creation of electricity to power homes and factories. -Mandatory safety testing to a very high, government set standard, for any new nuclear plant and at periodic intervals for all existing nuclear plants must be implemented. |

Message | The AAP appreciates the need for future research in this areas, but wonders if governmental interference is the best way to achieve the goal. Our AAP think-tank has, however, arrived at a possible compromise - a 'voluntary' investment program (which our thinktank currently calls the 'Likatonian Energy Patriot Bond', which would allow individuals and groups to voluntarily fund these researches, voluntarily - and with minimal government interference, or involvement. |

Message | We support this bill, but would like to see a clause added that stipulates mandatory safety testing to very high, government set standards, for any new nuclear plant and at periodic intervals for all existing nuclear plants. |

Message | What does the CPL think of the 'voluntary investment program', as suggested by the AAP? We see it as a means to boost research, without having the government 'interfere'. |

Message | That may very well work for Nuclear Energy, but we fear that individuals and private companies would be unwilling to invest in renewable energy, which will mostly be on a small scale, providing no commercial benefits to private companies, but representing too large an initial outlay cost for individuals. |

Message | The initial outlay is ONLY 'great', if a small number of people invest. The more people that are encouraged to join in, the lower the per capita charge. |

Message | power from nuclear fission is a fad and one that in reality will never be able to cope alone, and lets forget the radioactive waste that has to be kept sealed for thousands of years. the only way foward is the renewable sources that is the only reason i am supporting this bill. |
