Message | When I said I wanted the thoughts of the other parties, I thought I would get a wee bit more. I mean this is meant to be a debate. We oppose chemical weapons as they are dangerous in their development, they are not needed, and are a waste of money. |

Message | I'll first ask what does the URP mean by "why tie our hands". Secondly, in response to the DPLP, for what reason would we need to use highly dangerous weapons that is not only dangerous to the population during peace time but is also painfully slow killing? |

Message | our hands will be tied because this law LIMITS our defensive capabilities. |

Message | Because in times war you use whatever means are necessary. Furthermore, assuming proper containment procedures the peace-time risk of storing chemical weapons is negligible. Lastly, if we are killing people inflicting pain is a matter of process. |

Message | As this will be moving to a vote in November, I want to say that you can't assume anything; therefore storage and construction is highly dangerous to the public. Finally your right in saying that in war you use in any means necessary but even soldiers are taught to kill their oppoenents in one shot, these weapons will inflict incredible and inhumane pain if at the edge of the weapon attack. |
Date | 00:26:35, January 12, 2008 CET | From | Democratic Peoples of Lodamun Party | To | Debating the Abolition of Chemical Weapons Act |
Message | Point of fact. In every military I have ever heard of infantry soldiers are trained to use a minimum of three shots, or a quarter-second burst, because with standard weapons there is no way to ensure the first shot is going to kill whoever it is you're shooting at. |
