Bill: Anarch Anakrousite Reform Bill - Foreign Aid
Details
Submitted by[?]: Commonwealth Workers Army
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 2108
Description[?]:
The Likatonian economy is currently very strong - despite our fuel-economy worries, and our international concerns with other military powers. However, the Likatonian people are somewhat unpopular locally, and globally - perhaps due to a perception that we are a 'cold' people. Since our economy is thriving, and we could use the political capital, the AAP suggests we increase our foreign aid, at this time. It is the firm, avowed intent of the Parties, that: we must "ensure that the increase is in the form of investments, providing continuing jobs and expansion of the country's economy, and not just grants which often end up in the pockets of corrupt officials". In the vernacular - the AAP hopes Likatonia can 'teach' people to fish - not just 'give' them fish. |

Message | Response to FCoL: I guess it depends on how you define aid. The AAP is suggesting no-strings aid, AT the point of the problems. Not padding the pockets of foregin governments, not making some intermediary agency wealthy. AAP suggests direct aid - and in constructive forms. Education rather than grain. Well... maybe SOME grain and education... but you get the idea. The AAP envisions Likatonia as a driving force behind a world economy - helping other nations to overcome their hardships, INCLUDING debts. |
