Message | This new plan will deprive the government of much-needed funds to help pay for social services that the poor use. |

Message | How? Corporate taxes are up enough to offset the loss of taxes on clothes and food for the poor. If the treasury is indeed harmed (which is not proven) we can simply raise income taxes to compensate. |

Message | If you check the budget page you will find that we earn far more money from sales taxes than from corporate taxes. |

Message | ooc: when was that added? I had no idea there was a national budget page, it looks pretty screwy to me. Oh well. The budget will remain in surplus, if those figures are accurate. A reform to re-introduce progressive taxation and increase the offensively low luxury tax will be introduced soon. |

Message | The corporate tax is insufficent, if the bill was combined with a slight incrase on the luxuary goods tax then it would work, but as its stands it would force us into deficit. |

Message | Current surplus: 9,941,466,781 RCR Revenue from tax on essentials: 9,386,617,265 RCR Therefore, a surplus remains, even if the essentials tax is set to zero. With an increase in corporate tax, bringing in more than a billion RCR in additional revenue, the budget surplus will be more than secure. The PA appears to have its facts incorrect. There is no deficit under this plan. |
