Message“As a mother of four children, all of whom are in primary and secondary schools, I have personal experience with the unfair limitations currently imposed on the people of Rildanor by denying us the right to educate our children at home. If a parent desires to be personally involved in the education of their child, and they have adequate resources to do so, then to deny them that right is an outright abrogation of liberty. Not only does such a practice limit liberty, but it also hinders educational quality. If a child has special educational needs that cannot be met by the public schooling system, then the parent should be able to step up and ensure that their child has the best quality of education possible. I ask that the honourable Sénateurs, the representatives of the People of Rildanor, disregard partisan loyalties and squabbles and pass this momentous legislation with all haste.”

MessageWe spend more on education and culture than anything else on the budget, except the military, and so this government can afford to meet the needs of all children. And besides, we can never be really sure that a child is receiving a proper education in the home.
