MessageYep. Always so concerned but yet we all know you don't give a fuck about free enterprise.

MessageHmm, so which party was it that just introduced a bill freeing up a number of industries? We have for years championed the idea of public and private sectors working side by side. We are indeed trying to remove the state from pre-school. This bill, and our opposition to this bill, has nothing to do with free enterprise - it is a matter of safety.

MessageNot our fault that people are stupid not to read the warning labels on fireworks. Why punish those who do?

MessageBecause it's other, innocent, uninvolved people that are harmed. Not to mention the environmental hazards.

Messagesupport, very weakly

I am aware of the potential of starting fires but this pretends people are so stupid that anyone acquiring a piece of fireworks is going to burn down his street

Messagein that case jup why not just ban all fireworks including shows if you feel that way? i mean, that is basicly what you are saying here.

most people are not stupid. they actually read the labels before firing fireworks. i myself have done fireworks and not once burned myself or hurt myself. neither have my friends who were also launching fireworks.

MessageThis would still make only small fireworks legal to the general public (eg firecrackers..), not the big dangerous kinds which could take off someones arm or so...

MessageFireworks shows are run by licensed professionals. We wouldn't let just anyone drive a car - we require licences, since cars are dangerous. The same principle should apply here. It only takes one errant spark to start a forest fire.

MessageThe same can be said of a professional fireworks show. I mean...you are all for protecting the environment. Why else would you have said "Not to mention the environmental hazards". A professional show can cause a fire just the same as someone with a firework that would still be illegal to own.

MessageThis is a shame. Our firefighters are already overworked. This will not help at all.

Random fact: Players who consent to a particular role-play by acknowledging it in their own role-play cannot then disown it or withdraw their consent from it. For example, if player A role-plays the assassination of player B's character, and player B then acknowledges the assassination in a news post, but then backtracks and insists the assassination did not happen, then he will be required under the rules to accept the validity of the assassination role-play.
