Bill: Interrogation
Details
Submitted by[?]: Technocrat Bloc
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 2525
Description[?]:
Executions were made illegal in Egelion. When debates were still held on the topic a number of parties gave the reason that they preferred life imprisonment over executions because they thought life would be worse for them. The Technocrat Bloc agree with that sentiment and that is why the Technocrats push for legalized executions. It is true that the Technocrats probably do not cherish life to the degree that other parties might. But we are not inhumane enough to wish a lifetime of torture on a person. Criminals are still human and they should not be locked away in a cave and forgotten. If the leaders of Egelion are so willing to righteously torture a person for life, they should also be willing to torture a person for a short time for righteous cause of protecting the citizens of Egelion. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The use of torture for obtaining information.
Old value:: Torture is never allowed.
Current: Torture is never allowed.

Message | All knowledge is vital. But, not all situations are grave emergencies. Are you suggesting that we would torture everyone? That is far out of the scope of this bill. We would only be torturing those who you want to torture for life anyway. At least, we can help our people this way. |
