MessageEach tribe has cultural connections to the land comprising their territory. It is only right that they be allowed to administer that same land which for so long they had absolute control over.

MessageWhy do you have so little faith in the local governments of our nation? They have the best interests of their people in mind at all times, for they are elected as well.

MessageWe believe that local governments are more than capable to administer forests. Opposing parties believe local governments are incapable, and won't protect the forests.

MessageYou are Naive. What JUP wants is to have the locals run the whole shabang forgetting that they to need to make money and as such, some regions will not protect the environment. That is why we have a national agency with the appropriate laws in place to protect the environment. What this law will do is hurt the local environment because the regions will take the opportunity to exploit it.

MessageJUP - local governments like federal governments are dictated not just by the people who elect them but by the corporations which pay them off

it is more likely a local gov can hide its clearcutting than a federal gov can

MessageThough I doubt that the local governments care much for what's best for their constituents (or, at least, I believe that they care more about holding onto power), I do see this as a step in the right direction; a step toward absolute political control by the people. I support this.
