Bill: Act for the Nationalisation of the Armed Forces
Details
Submitted by[?]: New-Revolutionary Communist Party (NRCP)
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 2526
Description[?]:
In a time of conflict, when military might is necessary, it is strange that we should have to rely on the strength of the free market economy, and the random fluctuations of private enterprise for the safety of our nation and our people. How can anyone seriously stand up in the house and tell the country that they truly believe it acceptable that a few rich investors can turn war into a private enterprise to reap the benefits from the sale of arms and equipment? If war to defend the country is not done for the country, but for profit, then how can any of our citizens reasonably expect to be kept safe if their death is more profitable than their life? We move, therefore, that all the work of the Armed Forces in Darnussia is put under the direct control of the government, including training and employment of troops, production and sale of arms and all forms of trade associated with weaponry. |
