Bill: Fiscal Responsibility Restoration Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Democratic Rationalists (PrCoa)

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 2527

Description[?]:

Because of the passage of a large tax cut last year, we're now running a substantial budget deficit. With the apparent retirement of the LSDR, we find ourselves in a familiar position. The political will for a sales tax increase probably does not exist, but the political will for a corporate tax increase might. Thus, to make up for the budget shortfall, we propose this increase to the corporate tax.

MessageIt should be noted that corporate taxes don't generate much revenue. To generate the same revenue as a 1% tax on luxury goods, the corporate tax must be around %5.
