Bill: Fiscal Responsibility Restoration Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Democratic Rationalists (PrCoa)
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 2527
Description[?]:
Because of the passage of a large tax cut last year, we're now running a substantial budget deficit. With the apparent retirement of the LSDR, we find ourselves in a familiar position. The political will for a sales tax increase probably does not exist, but the political will for a corporate tax increase might. Thus, to make up for the budget shortfall, we propose this increase to the corporate tax. |

Message | It should be noted that corporate taxes don't generate much revenue. To generate the same revenue as a 1% tax on luxury goods, the corporate tax must be around %5. |
