Bill: A Proposal to Restore The Representation of the Rutanian People in Parliament
Details
Submitted by[?]: The Organization for Economic Freedom
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 2532
Description[?]:
The current number of seats was originally proposed to allot one seat per 80,000 residents of Rutania. Because of population growth, the people now have considerably less representation: 1 seat per 302,725 residents. I propose that the current number of available seats in parliament be raised considerably higher to restore the people's representation in Parliament. |
Proposals

Old value:: 599
Current: 105

Message | Originally proposed by my party a few hundred years ago, it then changed and is now back at 599 due to it being 300 for a majority and 400 for a supermajority to pass a constitutional amendment. Increased seats is a drain on the taxpayers money.and will lead to an expensive expansion of Parliamentary costs, buildings and salaries. |

Message | This is one of the most important elements of the FP platform and we will not countenance any change to this.Support for other bills can be gained via guaranteeing to permanently oppose any increase or decrease in seats. More seats, equals more government waste. |
