MessageChildren are the most helpless and impressionable members of our society, and we should take the utmost care before forcing them to do anything. Forcing them to "show respect" is ridiculous.

We must foster in children the idea that they should think for themselves - that is the basis of freedom of expression and indeed all democracy. If a child wishes to question the state, then they have every right to do so. Even children have human rights, and we mustn't infringe them for no good reason.
