Bill: Pollution Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Fair and Equal World Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 2536
Description[?]:
Pollution is a serious public health issue, and as such, it deserves attention from the government. Corporations which are only interested in making a profit can't be trusted to regulate themselves. There needs to be governmental regulation to hold back the reckless pollution by these corporations. Companies can't be trusted to see the long-term perils of pollution. They simply want a better earnings report for the next quarter. We offer this bill to protect the health of Rutania's citizens from potentially dangerous toxins released by greedy companies only looking to make a bigger profit. Let's look at the long-term health of our planet. Will it really matter how much we cut government spending if our citizens' health is at risk? When staying alive becomes our primary concern, money loses its value. Let's look at the long-term, people. |

Random fact: Players have a responsibility to differentiate between OOC (out-of-character) and IC (in-character) behaviour, and to make clear when they are communicating in OOC or IC terms. Since Particracy is a role-playing game, IC excesses are generally fine, but OOC attacks are not. However, players must not presume this convention permits them to harass a player with IC remarks that have a clear OOC context. |
