Message | Finance Minister Smart passed on shortly before the last election. The media missed it because it was swept up reporting other events. The Democratic Rationalists nominated, and the Parliament elected in her place Prime Minister Colton White's niece, Trinity Star. Here, then, is Finance Minister Star's first proposed budget, which completes the work set out by her predecessor, Sojourner Smart. In the spirit of compromise, Minister Smart has adopted several of the MLP's recommendations in this budget. 1) Cuts to the Head of Government. Parliamentarians will have to learn to get along with smaller office staffs, or fewer travel junkets. 2) Increase to the Justice budget. Aloria has grown. But her federal court system has not. This bill will help the courts clear some of their dockets. 3) Increase to Infrastructure and Transport. We need roads, we need the roads we have repaired. All three were alterations the MLP specifically requested. This bill spends the tax alteration proposed in a previous bill. If it passes, Minister Star intends to call for another budget conference to discuss Aloria's next budget goals. |

Message | Perfect. This will finally complete what most of Aloria's parties agreed upon over a decade ago, a budget that is 10% of the country's GDP. |

Message | And PRP, you agreed with the tax proposal DR set for th earlier, and that will gives us a surplus. This budget does something with that surplus. What would you do with it differently? |

Message | It would be much more helpful if you could state why you're voting against it, PRP. |

Random fact: In cases where players introduce RP laws to a nation and then leave, Moderation reserves the discretion to declare the RP laws void if they appear to have fallen into disuse. In particular, please bear in mind that a player who is inexperienced with Particracy role-play and has joined a nation as the only party there should not generally be expected to abide by RP laws implemented by previous players who have been and left. |
