Message | WHIP will vote no on articles 1, 3 and 4. Women should protect and serve alongside men, and whether or not a person is homosexual or heterosexual is inconsequential on a battlefield. WHIP also believes in government ownership of defense industry. We will support article 2 if posed under separate cover. |

Message | While we have often agreed to amend bills in order to ensure their passing we feel that the importance of these articles means that we must now take a stand. In order to ensure the people of Pontesia are fully aware of our party's position on these areas of vital concern to the military effectiveness of our nation we believe it is imperative that we do not buckle to pressure from other political party's on these matters. The continued insistence of the WHIP that female soldiers serve openly and in the front lines goes against common worldwide policy. Female soldiers are just not equipped physically or mentally to cope with the demanding pressures of combat in the front lines. Our party wholly supports female participation in the military but the current policy places our military integrity and effectiveness at risk. The National Conservative Union stands behind this bill, pass or fail, because we believe in supporting our principles. Pontesia must be properly protected and to do that our military must be able to operate at it's maximum effectiveness. |
