Message | We believe that the Police should be separated from the Military completely. In emergencies, the military are perfectly able to assist in many ways that do not include policing, but the army are not by-and-larged equipped or trained to police civilians. We also propose that the Police Service be brought under unitary control. Having several forces creates duplication and in the present age, when crime can be national, or even international, local forces are increasingly having to co-operate and pass information around. The jurisdiction issues create hold-ups and the transfer of information will be imperfect. |

Message | The party is split about the first issue. art 1. Why shouldn't the military policy be placed under command of the regular police force in those cases. That will solve the problem and there are plenty of reinforces available. art 2. Agreed. |
