MessageThough we support the nature and idea of this bill, we would prefer "The government pays partially for all citizens' pharmaceutical drugs, and pays entirely for those of low income citizens." as the proposal as this would guarantee that those on low incomes would continue to receive free prescriptions, but help reduce the massive costs that would be incurred by the NHS. This, of course, would not apply to drugs being used within hospitals et al which would continue to be administered freely, and would only be used for those receiving prescription drugs.

MessageThis is expensive. I would prefer some kind of discounted pharmaceuticals rather then total coverage. So essentially the government reimburses the pharmaceutical companies? I don't know if I can support this,( like it matters anyway with 0 seats,) because this adds more redtape to our NHS. I thought the NHS didn't provide free medication, only doctor services and not pharmaceutical.

Message"Does this scheme include people purchasing paracetamol, aspirin etc?" - Only if a doctor prescribes them, otherwise the patient has to pay for them.

" I thought the NHS didn't provide free medication, only doctor services and not pharmaceutical." - Do you mean the RL NHS? If so then only a flat prescription charge applies; the medicine itself is free.

MessageThough we may try to modify this later, we agree with the principle behind this bill.
