Message | Corporation Tax. Too low at 3%. We would like to see it maintained at 10% Luxury Tax. Too low at 8%. We would accept a cut to 10%, but no lower. Besides, if the Spending Bill goes through, your cuts would leave the budget with a defecit of about 300 billion Dinars. Not clever. |

Message | We are pleased about your statement to lower the tax on luxury products. Concerning your final statement we are less content. The members of the DFM faction smile ironically : "Socialists are of course specialists concerning creating budget deficits but this time they calculated wrongly." There will be no deficit at all. That's because the proposed tax reduction will increase investments, raising profits, leading to more spending power for the people, more jobs and more tax revenues! Basis economics, Sir. |

Message | Actually, we find that the general rule is that right wing governments promise to reduce deficits, but end up creating worse ones by cutting taxes to 'free up the economy' (or 'buy votes'), and can't quite make the spending cuts in line. The Left, however, then have to come in and sort the problems out, and so increase taxes to pay off the deficit (because we don't like making cuts to public services). We'd love the DFM to show us the last time that there was a budget deficit in Kirlawa. We can't remember such a time. |

Message | A lot of bombast there, my honourable friend. By the way, the registrars are probably socialists. Apparently, the files to prove our stance are missing. Typical.... |
