Message | Er, the current says Local Governments give curfews, but only if a state of emergency has been declared. The article you've changed it to gives to much power to the local governments |
Date | 17:42:30, February 26, 2008 CET | From | Party for a Federal Meritocracy | To | Debating the Moving curfew laws to local level |
Message | That's the point--except I don't see it as too much power. It is instead returning power to the local government where it belongs. If they abuse it, their own (local) constituents will remove them (preferably by voting). |
Date | 20:19:40, February 26, 2008 CET | From | Scientific Libertarian Party | To | Debating the Moving curfew laws to local level |
Message | If it's a choice between national government and local government, we choose local government. If it's a choice between local government and no government, we choose no government. |

Message | That's what this was, moving it to local without national restrictions. |

Message | But, with this, the local government can just put up a curfew no matter what. That can potentially be restrictive on Civil Liberties, with the local governments just putting up a curfew no matter what. |
