MessageDSP, the national TOC does not offer free transit as stated in Sekowan law: it is partially subsidised with the remainder "user-pays".

We see a competitive advantage to offering multiple options of train transport. We are leaning towards opposing.

MessageIf we do not charge people to use the transit system, therefore providing free service, the government foots the bills. If the government foots the bill, the taxes have to increase to cover the bill. If the taxes have to increase, the people will get annoyed at the one who originally said that we should increase taxes to pay for the transit system.

If the DSP will gladly step forward into the crowd of higher taxed people, then by all means, we will stand back and watch.

MessageWe support; competition is a good thing, and we absolutely hate public transport systems where the user gets charged twice: once in taxes, and then again at the till.
