Bill: DSP.094.2543

Details

Submitted by[?]: 帝国公明党 (Teikoku Kōmeitō)

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 2543

Description[?]:

Standardized testing is a very useful tool for determining the general intelligence development of individuals, however creativity is just as important.

Current laws only further the creation of a society of drones who only learn how to work.
We must change this to make sure all of our citizens are well rounded and intelligent individuals who are good problem solvers.

Message1) experience is crucial. Majority of students will end up as part of the workforce.

2) "only learn to work" - standardised testing is 'discouraged', not eliminated

3) creativity is important, agreed - however it will come at the workplace as well. Motivation is higher when someone is doing a project that an end-user will use, instead of these "imagine if" projects at school.

4) "well rounded" - it's lacking practical experience => statement is false.

5) "creative" and "intelligent" have two separate meanings. One does not imply the other. Being around intelligent co-workers will increase your knowledge more rapidly than siding on a chair and doing Pūjā

6) problem solving techniques are learned on the job from more experienced co-workers

We strongly oppose.

OOC: This comes from personal experience of listening to university quacks (professors) teach you something they saw in a lab or experiment that can never be of practical use. That type of learning should be left for graduate/research studies level. Learning useful information is much more useful.

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, it is the responsibility of players to ensure the candidate boxes on their Party Overview screens are filled in with appropriate names. If a player is allotted seats in a Cabinet bill and has not filled in names for the relevant candidate position, then the program will automatically fill in the positions with names which might not necessarily be appropriate for the Cultural Protocols.
