Bill: Secular initiative - vs indoctrination

Details

Submitted by[?]: Republican Coalition

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2544

Description[?]:

With the fall of religious parties in the legislature, Damien Forge presents a new initiative. Here against brainwashing of children from a young age by their education system, which is in that way an abuse of their role to educate. Children should learn of religion in an unbiased, free learning environment like every other aspect of society.

MessagePeople are free to practice in any way they see fit, they are not, however, permitted to force their beliefs onto youths and their own children. This is restriction of freedom of thought, which is the more important of the two.

MessageWe believe that religious schools should be allowed to exist provided that they give their pupils a balanced view of the world. We are not currently certain that they do this and will have to look closer at the nature of the "strict regulation" before deciding a stance on this Bill.

MessageA vote was taken of CRP members. Neither side was able to gain a sufficient proportion to win the ballot, so we will abstain from this vote.
